Dental Checkups & Cleaning
Having a checkup every six months lets us monitor the condition of your teeth and gums, allowing us to potentially spot signs of decay and disease that may not be obvious to the untrained eye. We may schedule follow-up visits for you if we determine that you have an oral health condition that requires intervention. Our talented hygienists will also clean the hard-to-reach spots throughout the mouth so that any plaque and tartar that has built up over time is removed before they can cause problems.
Children’s Dentistry
From toddlers to teenagers, we’re happy to be able to help children of all ages enjoy a positive experience at the dentist’s office. High quality oral health care early on can serve as the foundation for teeth that last for the rest of your little one’s life. We offer several services that are particularly useful for protecting smiles that are still developing. And of course, we’re always happy to take the time to teach our youngest patients how they can take better care of their smiles at home.
Oral Cancer Screening
While it’s in its early stages, oral cancer can be easily missed. As a result, many patients are not diagnosed until their cancer has already reached an advanced stage that is more difficult to treat. Our team will perform an oral cancer screening as part of your regular checkups; we’ll keep a sharp eye out for suspicious growths or sores, and we’ll arrange for a biopsy to be performed in the near future so that you can get the care you need right away.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a mineral found in most toothpastes as well as public drinking water in most areas of the United States. Applying it directly to the teeth in a highly concentrated form helps remineralize them and makes them more resistant to decay. This type of preventive treatment is usually performed on children since their teeth are still developing. However, some adults may be more prone to cavities than others and could also benefit from a fluoride treatment.
Nightguards for Grinding
Grinding the teeth at night is a very common problem. The exact cause isn’t always clear, but it’s usually linked to stress. Since prolonged grinding can severely wear down the teeth, it’s best to be proactive in protecting the smile by getting a nightguard. We can create this appliance for you after we’ve taken impressions of your teeth. Simply place it in your mouth every night so that your teeth do not directly touch each other.
